In our digital, electronics and flexibility dominated lifestyle little attention is paid on purchasing energy efficient products, however for example almost a half of the UK’s carbon dioxide emissions actually come from energy used every day - at home and when we travel.

To generate that energy, we burn fossil fuels (coal, oil and gas) that produce greenhouse gases - in particular carbon dioxide (CO₂). Cars are a huge problem but the truth is that more CO₂ comes from the energy we use at home. The average UK household creates around 6 tonnes of CO₂ a year, and it’s that same CO₂ that’s changing our climate and damaging the environment.

Therefore using the most energy efficient products available sounds pretty cool.

The energy efficient products we selected for the show are based upon a Europe-wide research project: Topten. The Topten portal presently gives access to 13 national Topten websites and presents the ‘Best Products of Europe’:

A simple click gives access to a selection of the most energy efficient products, featuring pictures, functions, price and average energy costs.

It is possible to contribute, so inform yourself and think twice before purchasing electrical goods.
